What 2026 changed for people paying for tirzepatide
Lilly cut Zepbound self-pay pricing to $299–$449 in February and extended the KwikPen to self-pay and retail pickup. The Medicare GLP-1 Bridge began dispensing at $50 a month on 1 July, the first meaningful Medicare route in this category. FDA issued warning letters to several compounded GLP-1 marketers in February and proposed removing these molecules from the 503B bulks list in June.
The year's most useful finding for a reader was about the information itself: when we re-checked fifteen widely published compounded prices against the providers' own pages, fourteen were wrong, and every correction moved the price upward.
How to read a dated archive
Anything in this category ages badly. Manufacturer pricing has moved more than once in a single year, regulatory positions have shifted between proposal and final rule, and programs have entered and left the compounded market inside a quarter. An item dated here was accurate on that date and may not be now.
Where a story is still moving we say so in the item rather than implying it is settled. If you find something here that has been overtaken, tell us through contact — corrections are logged with the date they were made, and an archive nobody corrects is just a record of what we used to believe.
